worthy可用作形容詞，有值得尊敬的，值得敬仰的等含義；用作名詞時，有大人物，知名人士等含義。后面不可直接加名詞和動名詞。
1.worthy后不能直接跟名詞，要先接介詞of。
The place is quite worthy of a visit.
這個地方很值得參觀。
It's nothing worthy of mention.
那是件不值得一提的事。
2.worthy后接動詞時，不能直接跟動名詞，后應(yīng)跟不定式或“of+動名詞”。
She said she was not worthy to accept the honour they had offered her.
她說她不值得接受他們給予她的榮譽(yù)。
3.worthy后接不定式或“of+動名詞”時，需根據(jù)意義的主動與被動選擇相應(yīng)的語態(tài)。
This suggestion is worthy to be considered.
This suggestion is worthy of being considered.
這個建議值得考慮。
