therefore意思是結(jié)果、對(duì)某事進(jìn)行推論、因此、所以、故、乃，用于整句中一般放在句首和句中，也可用在分句中。

1、當(dāng)therefore在整句中時(shí)，一般不放句末，放在句首后要有逗號(hào)，放在句中時(shí)前后都要有逗號(hào)。

He was the only candidate; therefore, he was elected.

他是唯一的候選人，因此，他當(dāng)選了。

The Chinese Christians,therefore,practically excommunicate themselves from their own clan.

所以，中國(guó)的基督徒簡(jiǎn)直是被逐出了自己的家族了。

2、當(dāng)therefore用在分句中時(shí)，即一個(gè)句子一部分表示原因一部分表示結(jié)果。

這時(shí)一般詞前要用分號(hào)，其后用不用逗號(hào)無(wú)所謂。若第二個(gè)分句前是逗號(hào)或無(wú)符號(hào)，則要注意therefore是副詞，和so不一樣，要保持句子完整，應(yīng)用and therefore。

I had a headache，therefore I could not go to your party.

我頭痛，所以不能去參加你的聚會(huì)。

I was ill, and therefore I could not come.

我病了,所以沒(méi)能來(lái)。

We do not have enough money. Therefore we can not afford to buy the new car.

我們的錢(qián)不夠,因此買(mǎi)不成這輛新車(chē)。
